When you get a TalkPlus number, our system forwards calls to that number to whatever number(s) you have specified.
When you make a call using your TalkPlus number,
you will use one of our mobile applications or WAP to initiate the
call. TalkPlus will then use your mobile phone to place a call to a
local number provided by our system, which then will connect you to the
friend you are calling. This allows TalkPlus to show the TalkPlus
number on your friend's callerID, instead of your mobile phone's
callerID. This also allows you to place low cost international
calls by dialing a local number to connect your call through
TalkPlus.
More details: TalkPlus
relies on a system that is built to leverage the existing wireless
networks that your current mobile phone uses. As a result, the quality
of the service our customers receive is the same as what they would
receive from making and receiving calls from their existing mobile
phones. When a user initiates a call from their mobile phone, that call
is dynamically routed to the TalkPlus secure operations center which
provides the specific features a user has requested and is then
delivered over the same carrier-grade networks to receiving parties.
How does this affect my current mobile phone service?
You don't need to change your current mobile phone service in order to use TalkPlus.
Whenever you use TalkPlus, you are using minutes on your TalkPlus plan and on your carrier plan, so be certain that you have enough carrier minutes for all of the talking that you plan to do.
TalkPlus also uses a small amount of data transmission for
each call, so you will see data usage on your carrier plan. If you
don't already have a carrier data plan, your carrier will probably
charge you around 2 to 3 cents per kilobyte of data usage, depending on
your carrier.
