What does TalkPlus do?

Answer:

TalkPlus provides advanced Voice 2.0 services over mobile networks.

What is a 'TalkPlus Number' or a 'Virtual Number'?

Answer:

A 'TalkPlus Number' or a 'Virtual Number' is a phone number assigned to you by TalkPlus with which you can both make and receive phone calls with. Contacts can dial your TalkPlus number and it will ring your phone, and you can make outbound calls to Contacts and have your TalkPlus number show up on their Caller ID. We call it a "virtual number" or "TalkPlus Number" to differentiate it from the phone number that came with your mobile phone.

Can I make International Calls?

Answer:

Yes, you can make international calls from your TalkPlus Palm application once you are a paid user. Just make sure the international number you are dialing has a “+” in front of the number, or begins with an international prefix (e.g. “011”).

How does this affect my current mobile phone service?

Answer:

You don't need to change your current mobile phone service in order to use TalkPlus.

Whenever you use TalkPlus, you are using minutes on your TalkPlus plan and on your carrier plan, so be certain that you have enough carrier minutes for all of the talking that you plan to do.

TalkPlus recommends that you sign up for a data plan since data usage will be required when you download the application, and when you access features in the application that requires a network connection.

Do I need a data plan to use TalkPlus?

Answer:

We recommend that you sign up for a low-price data plan since the TalkPlus application requires data usage for some features. Data usage will also be required when you download the application.


Using TalkPlus 

Question:

How do I download the TalkPlus application onto my phone? 

Answer:

Retrieve the SMS (text) message that the TalkPlus Service sent to your phone upon completion of the Sign-up process from the website. 
  • Select the message from TalkPlus, and click on the URL in the body of the message. 
  • The TalkPlus application will download (generally in less than 30 seconds).

How do I start using TalkPlus once I've installed it onto my phone? 

Answer:

  • Find the TalkPlus icon where all your other Palm applications reside.
  • Enter the login and password information sent to you via email and SMS by TalkPlus.
  • Enter your login or password in the box, click “OK”.
  • Wait for the application to connect with the TalkPlus service.
  • Wait while the application is connecting to data.
  • The TalkPlus Dialpad tab will appear after you login.
  • Start making calls with your TalkPlus numbers or Mirror numbers!

Question:

How do I use the application to make a call?

Answer:

Open the TalkPlus application, go to the Dialpad tab, and then simply dial a number similar to how you would typically place a call.

You can also make calls by selecting Phonebook Contacts or Call History entries from your TalkPlus application.  Phonebook Contacts in TalkPlus are the same Contacts that already exist in your Native Phonebook.

How do I check my voicemail?

Answer:

The TalkPlus Service provides an individual Voicemail box for each TalkPlus number you sign up for. Each unique Voicemail box can be managed separately using the TalkPlus application from the phone or from the Web via the TalkPlus Contact Center (www.talkplus.com/contactcenter).
To access your voicemail from the device:
  • Click on the Voicemail Tab in the TalkPlus Application
  • Scroll to the Voicemail you would like to listen to, and press the center key to listen (or use the Touchscreen to select a message you want to listen to)
You can also check your voicemail for your TalkPlus number by dialing in to any of these 3 access numbers below and then at the prompt, enter in your login and password.

Question:

How do I use my existing phonebook to make a call?

Answer:

  • From the TalkPlus application, go to the Phonebook Tab. 
  • Select the Phonebook Contact that you wish to Call.  
  • Note:  These are the same Contacts that already exist in your Native Phonebook.  You do not need to recreate your contacts into your TalkPlus application.
  • To call a contact, highlight a number and press the Green button on your phone. You can also press the center button, or tab on the number via touchscreen

How do I uninstall the application?

Answer:

  1. From Launcher, go to the drop down options menu
  2. Select "TalkPlus" and click "Delete..."
