What is voicemail screening?
- When people call your TalkPlus number, you can listen
in as they leave you a message. You can pick up if you want
to.
- ... it's the feature we all miss from the old
tape-based answering machine we used to have
How does it work?
- Make sure you have Incoming Call Greeting turned on
(default = on).
- To change Incoming Call Greeting options, login, go to Profiles, select "Profile Settings". Under Incoming Call Greeting, make sure this option is selected: "Press 1 to accept call, press 2 to send to voicemail, 3 to screen voicemail"
- When people call your TalkPlus number, you will hear
the incoming call greeting
- Press 3
to send caller to voicemail and stay on the phone to listen in as your
caller leaves a message
- Press *
on your phone if you want to pick up and start talking to the caller
- You can just hang up if you want to let the caller
leave a voicemail
FAQ:
Q: Would the caller
know I am listening in, and not picking up?
A: No. It is the same experience as leaving a normal voicemail, and
they would not be able to hear you until you pick up by pressing the *
key.
